here in Nigeria.i cannot comment on best practices but i do know that we do not have enough microscopes to observe slides in hematology and microbiology in my school

Lekan, sorry about that. Which sch is that cos in my sch here in Nigeria as wel, we are considerably equippd. Atleast, I have tourd 7 countries and I knw we aint to far below the standard that is if u must insist that we are.

Hi, Am a medical student, 3rd year, in Abia State University, Uturu, Nigeria. Our education system here is so poor. We dont have constant lectures, we dont have well equipped laboratories, We only have 7 cadavers for upto 100 students. We are not even taught well by our lecturers. Currently the Academic Staff Union in my country are on a 100 days strike since May due to the fact that our lecturers want an increase in Salary and the Federal government is not doing anything about it. This Strike is also affecting we medical Students. And the worst part is that every student in my country except for those who can afford to attend private universities, are affected by the strike. And its not affecting the Government officials in my country because their children are all studying abroad, while they allow us to be frustrated here. Why cant my country do something about their education system here so that overseas students can be proud to say that they are attending a Nigerian University.
If I have the opportunity to get a sponsored transfer to a Medical School overseas where i wont be affected by this Inhumanity of our Governing officials to their subjects, God knows i'd make good use of such an opportunity......
